Zurich Australia signs TAL exec as life CEOAugust 13 2019 by Andrew Tjaardstra
Zurich Australia has appointed former TAL chief operating officer Justin Delaney as its new chief executive, life and investments, replacing Tim Bailey.
Delaney, who will start in December, has also held several senior positions at Macquarie, including executive director, head of wealth product and platforms.
Bailey, will remain in his role until Delaney starts, ans will then return to Europe to take up another role within Zurich; during his time at Zurich Australia he was responsible for completing Zurich’s acquisition of OnePath.
Jack Howell, Zurich’s Asia Pacific regional chief executive, said that Delaney will join a “strong, growing” business that is a leader in the Australian life insurance sector.
Howell commented: “Our Australian life insurance operations are now our largest regional revenue contributor and underpin our growth aspirations throughout Asia Pacific.”
“Delaney brings excellent experience across all channels in the life sector, and joins a business with a clearly defined strategy, built on a commitment to a dual brand, multi-proposition approach in retail, and strong growth aspirations across group life, bancassurance and investments.”
