Swiss Re hires Jolene Loh in South-East Asia L&H pushMarch 18 2020 by Yvonne Lau
Jolene Loh has joined Swiss Re as head life and health client markets for South-East Asia.
Loh (pictured) , who started on March 9, is based in Singapore and joined from Pacific Life Re where she was head of business development. Prior to that, Loh was vice president of business development in Asia at Marsh, and vice president of alternative risk transfer, South-East Asia, for Munich Re.
Marianne Gilchrist, managing director, head of globals and life & health South Asia at Swiss Re, commented: “The rapid rise of a tech-savvy, middle-class segment fueling demand for life and health insurance presents new growth opportunities for us in South-East Asia.”
Gilchrist added: “Loh’s wealth of experience will add to our strong abilities to explore and establish new partnerships and client engagement platforms. [She] will also play an instrumental role in leveraging our digital strategy to accelerate our penetration and close the protection gap in these high-growth frontier markets.”
Swiss Re has also made two senior promotions in its Asia P&C team.
Reuben Ng, vice president client strategy and solutions Swiss Re, has been appointed head of broker business development in Asia; he started at the beginning of March. In January, Yau Siew Choi, previously head of casualty underwriting for Swiss Re, became head of P&C solutions Asia-Pacific.
