1. VIG Re hires chief representative for APAC
European reinsurer VIG Re has appointed Wilfrid Goh as the chief representative for APAC for its proposed representative office in Singapore, effective from July 1, subject to approval by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Goh brings over 20 years of reinsurance experience across Asia, with a strong track record in treaty underwriting and client management.

2. India’s GIC Re appoints chairman, MD
Indian state-owned reinsurer GIC Re has appointed Hitesh Joshi as its chairman and managing director (CMD), effective from Wednesday.
Joshi who was previously interim CMD, will continue his tenure until September 30, 2028, or until further government orders, whichever is earlier.

3. Tysers names interim Singapore CEO
Tysers has appointed William Furness-Smith as interim CEO of its Singapore unit, with his permanent appointment subject to approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
He will replace former CEO Babita Rai, and will work with the Singapore team to support the broker’s growth strategy across APAC.

4. Aon gives broking lead new Asia growth leader role
Aon has shifted Harry Edwards to a new role of Asia growth leader for financial services, professions, cyber and intellectual property.

5. Swiss Re promotes HK, Taiwan L&H reinsurance head to MD, head of technical & operational excellence for APAC ex-China
Torben Swart has been promoted to managing director and appointed head of technical and operational excellence for APAC, excluding China at Swiss Re, effective from August 1.
In this newly created role, Hong Kong-based Swart will be responsible for driving underwriting excellence, strengthening operational capabilities, and supporting the continued growth and resilience.
6. AIG taps senior underwriter for Singapore commercial property team
AIG has tapped Dayung Dana Sun as a senior underwriter within its Singapore commercial property team.
Sun has joined from Singapore Reinsurance Corporation, where she had been a senior underwriter since November 2024.

7. Liberty Mutual hands COO additional global president, MD role 
Liberty Mutual Insurance has appointed Defne Turkes as president and managing director of Liberty International Insurance (LII), the international division of the insurer’s global risk solutions (GRS), effective July 1.
Singapore-based Turkes will lead strategic growth across commercial insurance internationally as well as retail markets in Asia and will report to Liberty GRS president Matthew Moore.

8. Crawford appoints duo as loss adjusters in Singapore
Crawford has appointed Eileen Chew and Alice Lee as loss adjusters in Singapore.
Chew joins from Sedgwick in Penang, where she had spent over five years, most recently as a manager since October 2024.
Meanwhile, Lee, who began her role in May, joins from Formteam Consultancy, where she had been a loss adjuster since February 2025.
