Tokio Marine Kiln has appointed Jamie Tang as a property underwriter in Singapore. Tang will work with the property team and will have responsibility for the development of the portfolio across the Asia region.
Tang has a decade of underwriting experience, focused especially on Australia where he has a strong background in complex property business and developing broker relationships.
Alex Dugand, managing director for Asia, Tokio Marine Kiln, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome [Tang] to the team. Our property portfolio in Asia is a core and long-standing part of our business. Our success here is testament to the strong technical expertise of our underwriters and the quality of the relationships they build.”
He added: “Bringing [Tang] on board will complement our property offering across the region at a time when we can see many new opportunities, despite the challenging market environment.”
Tokio Marine Kiln recently decided to close its Hong Kong office following a market review.
Charles Franks, group chief executive of Tokio Marine Kiln, said: “Our Hong Kong team have all made huge contributions to our efforts in Asia and we will do all we can to support them through this difficult time.”
