Decker & Co, a Southeast Asia/Asian Frontier specialist broker headquartered in the US, said life insurance in Thailand is a sunrise industry that has captured the attention of global institutional investors.
The company’s founder and president, Mark Decker, said that several institutional investors around the world are interested in meeting insurance management teams face to face for a possible investment.
Decker & Co is hosting a meeting this month of officials from Thailand-based companies Group Lease PCL and Thaire Life Assurance PCL, with US-based global investors.
Group Lease and Thaire Life, Thailand’s only publicly listed life reinsurers, are seeking investment from the United States.
The overall market penetration in Thailand is about 4%, compared to Singapore’s 7%, Hong Kong’s 12% and Taiwan’s 18%.
