Xinmei Zheng has been appointed head of client markets, P&C, Hong Kong & Taiwan, from August 1.
Zheng will be responsible for marketing, origination and client relationship management activities of P&C business for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
Zheng (pictured) joined Swiss Re in 2008 and was most recently client manager and market underwriter for P&C reinsurance for the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand – a role she has held since 2014. Zheng succeeds David Alexander, who is retiring and returning to the UK at the end of August.
Hans-Joachim Zimmermann will join Swiss Re as head of client markets, P&C Malaysia, on 15 July. Zimmermann will become responsible for marketing, origination and client relationship management activities of P&C conventional business in Malaysia and Indo-China countries.
Hans-Joachim has most recently been chief underwriting officer at Axa Affin General Insurance in Malaysia, a position he has held since 2015
Victor Kuk, Swiss Re’s head of P&C Reinsurance for South East Asia, India, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan commented: “[Zimmerman] and [Zheng] bring with them extensive industry experience and possess a deep understanding of this region. I am confident they will play a critical role in driving our P&C business in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.”
