Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ new office in Kuala Lumpur has opened and will function under a Labuan FSA reinsurance licence, focusing on servicing Malaysian businesses through broking partners and intermediaries.
The team will be led by Juerg Stoll (pictured), a seasoned Swiss Re leader, who has more than 30 years of industry experience, most recently as country head for Japan. He will report to South-East Asia head Jonathan Rake.
“Malaysia is a key focus for us and having a local presence will enable us to more closely collaborate with the market,” said Fred Kleiterp, Asia-Pacific chief executive for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
Stoll said: “I’m enthused about building a long-lasting presence in Malaysia and supporting the country’s economic growth ambitions with reliable contingent capital.”
