Sedgwick appoints Asia COO with promotionJune 14 2019 by InsuranceAsia News Staff
Sedgwick has made Wayne Cheng, general manager of its Asia businesses, the firm’s chief operations officer for Asia.
According to the adjuster, Cheng (pictured) becomes responsible for executing the company’s business and growth strategy and driving operational efficiency as Sedgwick scales its business across the region.
His specialties include data analysis, insurance claims, finance marketing, operations, project management, reinsurance and talent management; he joined Cunningham Lindsey (now Sedgwick) in 2014.
“[Cheng] has a deep and thorough understanding of our industry, and his experience across general insurance and the Asia markets will continue to be a great asset to Sedgwick,” said James Ong, Sedgwick chief executive for Asia.
“[Cheng’s] main objectives as chief operations officer are to position Sedgwick for continued growth in Asia and enable our company to operate at its full capacity and capabilities. In this new leadership role, [Cheng] will help us ensure that Sedgwick remains at the forefront of the industry across the region and around the world.”
Sedgwick has been ramping up its footprint in Asia this year with a series of high profile hires and the acquisition of Insight in Singapore.
