RMS appoints Asia-Pacific managing directorMay 1 2019 by InsuranceAsia News Staff
RMS has appointed Andy Woodhouse as managing director for Asia and Japan.
Hong Kong-based Woodhouse was most recently regional services director at banking software firm Temenos; he was previously head of product and business development at Bloomberg, and managing director at Real Time System.
Neil Isford, executive vice-president, RMS commented: “Asia-Pacific is a critical growth area for RMS and our clients. This is reflected in our commitment to not only delivering and updating an increasing suite of models for the region, but also in the calibre of the staff we have working with clients.”
“[Woodhouse] has over 20 years of experience in successfully building teams across this region to sell and implement software-based solutions, and I know that his experience and enthusiasm will be of great benefit to all our Asia-Pacific clients.”
Earlier this year RMS appointed Yen Chin in the region as a client director; Chin started last month and joined from Verisk Insurance Solutions; he is based in Singapore.
Meanwhile RMS has updated its earthquake models for Taiwan and five South-East Asian markets: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The models update RMS’s latest methodologies and reflect the latest research on hazard, vulnerability and financial modelling enhancement. These build on the enhancements made in version 17 in 2017, incorporating new and expanded market data, market feedback and improved data sets.
