1. QBE Re taps Berkley Re’s head of underwriting for new head of Asia treaty role
QBE Re tapped Berkley Re’s former head of underwriting, Cindy Foo, for the newly created head of treaty role.
The appointment comes as QBE Re looks to expand into Asia, with Singapore to serve as the hub for this growth.

2. Markel rehires PFR and cyber underwriter
Markel has re-appointed Weng Joe Wong as professional financial risks (PFR) and cyber underwriter in Singapore.
Wong previously held the same position at Markel between May 2021 and December 2023.
3. Allianz Trade names regional Japan desk head
Allianz Trade has promoted Yusuke Hata as the regional head of Japan desk for North Asia and Singapore.
Japan-based Hata was previously the sales manager for the Japan team since joining the trade credit insurer in 2022.

4. Texel grows Asia broking team with double appointment
Credit and trade risk insurer Texel appointed Jamie Stork as associate director and Brandon Woo as a broker as part of an expansion of its Asian broking team.

5. Gallagher Australia appoints client manager for energy
Rafael Quijada joins Gallagher from energy provider Halliburton, where he was the senior account manager since July 2022.

6. Aon announces new India sports and entertainment head
Aon India has named Abizar Bohra as head of sports, leisure and entertainment. Bohra was previously senior vice president with the broker for two years and five months from June 2023
