Axa XL: Xavier Veyry, chief executive of Axa China, chairman of Axa Tianping in China and Axa General Insurance in Korea, has been promoted from his role as chief executive for Asia and Europe at Axa XL.
IAN understands Veyry will keep his China and Korea chairmanships but step down from his role as chief executive of Axa China “later this year” to lead Axa XL’s Asia & Europe business from Dublin, subject to regulatory approval.
Veyry will join Axa XL’s newly configured leadership team, reporting to global chief executive Scott Gunter– who is also interim Eurasia chief executive. He will oversee the firm’s extensive operations across the two continents (excluding the UK). For more see here.
John Foord: Michael Gallagher, previously chief executive of Aon Singapore, has joined John Foord to grow its global analytics platform. Using machine learning and AI, John Foord Analytics is able to leverage large volumes of cost data, collected by John Foord over decades, to create models allowing owners, insurers and advisors to receive value-at-risk insights.
MatthewsDaniel: Matt Cannock, former head of Asia at Markel, has become Asia Pacific managing director at global loss adjuster and warranty surveyor MatthewsDaniel. MatthewsDaniel has offices in Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam and a regional office in Singapore where Cannock (pictured) is based. Cannock has replaced Simon Ward who has returned to London to become chief of staff for the firm.
RACQ: Tracy Green has been appointed to the role of group executive insurance at Australia’s RACQ, reporting to chief executive David Carter. Green has already spent almost 12 months acting in the role. She was formerly RACQ’s general manager insurance product and pricing based in Brisbane, Prior to RACQ, Green spent eight years at IAG in Sydney, the last two as EGM customer and underwriting.
Sedgwick: Sedgwick has appointed Amen Chiu, a former director at Crawford, as director of its Hong Kong operations. Chiu will work closely with Alex Tang chief executive of Hong Kong’s Sedgwick arm – which has an office on Hong Kong Island. For more see here.
Universal Sompo General Insurance: The Indian insurer has appointed Sharad Mathur as managing director and chief executive. Mathur was previously head of distribution at SBI General Insurance. In the new role, Mathur will lead overall operations and report to the board.
