Former Chubb executive Liam Burrell has been tapped by AIG to serve as their Asia-Pacific head of client and broker engagement for general insurance.
In the Singapore-based role, Burrell (pictured) will become responsible for partnerships and market strategies from October 29; he will report to Sachin Shah, chief executive of AIG Asia-Pacific.
Burrell joins from Chubb, where he most recently served as the company’s division head of P&C for Singapore. Prior to Chubb, Burrell had a ten-year tenure at Ace, now incorporated into Chubb, with four years of his term spent as indemnity product head for Australia and New Zealand.
Shah, who is also based in Singapore, commented on Burrell’s appointment: “[Burrell] has extensive market leading experience, and his track record of developing high-performing teams and long-term relationships with distribution partners and clients will be a valuable addition to AIG.”
Shah added: “His appointment reinforces our commitment to delivering differentiated broker and customer offerings.”
