Property and casualty insurer Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has appointed Min Ong as its new Asia Regional Head of Energy. Ong will be based in Singapore, and will lead the energy business of BHSI, utilising her over two decades of energy underwriting and management expertise. Min was most recently Regional Energy Underwriting Manager of BHSI and was Energy Underwriter at Ascot Underwriting Asia and Senior Manager, Energy at Allianz Global Risks in London and Singapore. Malin Fredriksson, Asia Regional Head of First Party Lines, said Min’s expertise would enable BHSI to move strongly into energy lines across Asia. In Asia, BHSI underwrites on the paper of Berkshire Specialty Insurance Company that holds financial strength ratings of A++ from AM Best and AA+ from Standard & Poor’s.
