Miller hires for SE Asia and Taiwan facultative pushFebruary 14 2019 by InsuranceAsia News Staff
Specialist Lloyd’s (re)insurance broker Miller has hired Amanda Lee from US giant Gallagher in Singapore, where she worked for seven years.
Her core focus at Miller will be in the property and casualty sector across South-East Asia and Taiwan, particularly for facultative placements.
Lee will work closely with the broking teams in Singapore and London to support growth plans with existing and prospective new clients. She already has strong underwriting relationships in the Singapore market and the wider region.
Chihiro Maekawa, head of P&C at Miller Singapore, commented: “[Lee] has a successful track record of handling facultative placements on behalf of clients throughout Asia and will prove a great addition to our highly accomplished broking team.”
Prior to joining Gallagher, Lee spent seven years broking at PWS Singapore and six years in treaty underwriting at R&V Re Singapore.
Miller’s Singapore office is based in the Ocean Financial Centre and is overseen by Nigel Cross, the head of Miller Singapore. In addition to London, the broker has offices in Brussels, Ipswich (also in the UK) and Paris.
The broker has more than 600 staff globally and places over US$3 billion.
