Etiqa, the insurance and takaful arm of Malayan Banking (Maybank), has named four new executive officers (CEOs) to lead each of the four new entities generated by the split of the insurer.
The appointees are Fukhairudin Mohd Yusof for Etiqa General Insurance, Zaharudin Daud for Etiqa General Takaful, Zafri Ab Halim for Etiqa Family Takaful and Kamaludin Ahmad for Etiqa Life Insurance, the latter in an interim capacity.
In a statement, Etiqa said the split was made to minimise risks and ensure continuous stability.
Etiqa is a multi-channel distributor of insurance and takaful products via its 10,000 agency force, 24 branches, more than 350 Maybank branches, and other third-party banks.
Maybank Ageas Holdings CEO Kamaludin Ahmad said despite the creation of the four new organisations, Etiqa remains committed to serving customers better.
