Lee Wood has been appointed as the new chief executive for the Hong Kong business of Metlife.
He will report to Damien Green, regional executive of MetLife Asia. Wood has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance sector.
His most recent position was as senior vice-president at Allianz Taiwan Life Insurance with responsibility for marketing, product development and the direct marketing channel.
Before that, he spent five years at HSBC Life in Taiwan as managing director, where he successfully led their bancassurance manufacturing startup operation before it was subsequently acquired by Allianz Taiwan Life Insurance.
In a statement, Green said Hong Kong remains a significant market in Asia for MetLife.
With the appointment of Wood, he expects MetLife’s Hong Kong business to further accelerate.
