Berkley Insurance Asia has signed Quek Keng Seng as a regional senior marine underwriting manager.
Keng Seng (pictured) will be based in BIA’s Singapore office and join the specialty insurer and facultative reinsurer on April 2.
He has more than 30 years of marine underwriting experience and joins from Canopius in Singapore where he has been a regional marine underwriter since 2010; previously he was a managing director for Tokio Marine Kiln in Singapore and helped establish the business in the Lion City.
Keng Seng is Berkley Insurance Asia’s latest addition to the marine team. He joins following the appointment of former Axa XL underwriter Manson Ma late last year as Greater China marine head in Hong Kong, along with underwriting manager Ping Ping Lim in Singapore.
Berkley Insurance Asia is building an experienced regional team led by Ju-Ann Lee, head of marine for Asia, India and the Middle East.
The (re)insurer, a subsidiary of US insurer WR Berkley, is led by its Singapore-based chief executive Shasi Nair; it also has offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Japan and Labuan.
