JP Morgan Asset Management’s insurance team snags Rick WeiSeptember 24 2019 by Yvonne Lau
Former BNP Paribas director Rick Wei has been tapped by JP Morgan Asset Management’s (JPMAM) insurance team to serve as the new head of insurance for Asia (ex Japan). He will be based in Hong Kong.
Wei will step in to replace Alan Yip, who joined Neuberger Berman as managing director.
In Wei’s new capacity, he will represent the global investment management firm’s insurance capacities to clients, regulators and associations. Working closely with client advisors and investment teams for business development and client servicing is another major responsibility of the role.
At BNP Paribas Asset Management, Wei served as head of insurance strategy for Asia. Prior to that, he was an associate director for portfolio management and ALM in Asia for MetLife Investments.

Wei’s professional certifications include membership as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA) and a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA).
