Tongchuangjiuding Investment Management Group (JD Group) has appointed Lennard Yong as regional chief executive of its insurance business.
Based in Hong Kong, Yong started last week and will now work with key partners in JD Group to expand the insurance business across key markets in Asia.
Its wholly owned subsidiary FTLife Insurance is one of Hong Kong’s biggest life insurance companies.
Fang Lin, chairman of JD Group’s insurance business, said Yong’s arrival is expected to accelerate the building of an international financial services conglomerate with Chinese heritage.
Long previously ran Hong Kong operations for ING and MetLife. His experience ranges across all aspects of life insurance, general insurance, pensions and asset management.
JD Group is committed to becoming an insurance-centric financial services platform operating on a global scale.
The group was listed on China’s National Equities Exchange and Quotations in 2014.
