Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Japan’s third-largest insurer by revenue, has signed a 10-year exclusive bancassurance agreement with Vietnam’s HDBank.
The deal, which was signed by Dai-ichi Life Vietnam and HDBank, means the Japanese insurer will be the sole insurer selling life insurance products through the national network of HDBank for 10 years starting July.
Dai-ichi will also offer to its own customers the different products and services of HDBank.
During the signing of the agreement on 11 May, HDBank and Dai-ichi pledged to develop strategic cooperation between Vietnam’s banking and insurance sectors.
The deal also allows Dai-ichi Life Vietnam’s customers to use the bill-payment service of HDBank through 220 transaction points all over Vietnam.
