Leading P&C player Chubb continues to add to its regional capacities with the hiring of Ian Ovenden as the head of middle market and small commercial for Asia.
Ovenden will relocate to Singapore and report to Jason Keen, Chubb’s regional head of property & casualty for Asia-Pacific.
In his new role, Ovenden will highlight Chubb’s product innovation, channel expertise in agency, bancassurance, broker and digital channels to service risk management requirements.
Ovenden’s most recent role prior to Chubb was as the head of underwriting and distribution for QBE in Hong Kong. He also served as Allied World’s head of general casualty in Asia. Ovenden’s portfolio includes over 15 years of experience building his skills in underwriting and distribution, in addition to leadership and management capabilities.
Commenting on this new appointment, Keen said: “Ian has broad management experience having worked in strategic, regional and operational roles. With his results-driven leadership and deep understanding of the business, Ian is well positioned to work with our distribution partners and innovate solutions tailored to the needs of middle market and small commercial businesses.”
Chubb also recently appointed Doron Grossman as new head of Asia distribution.
