JLT Re’s Howard to become vice-chairman of Guy CarpenterNovember 21 2018 by InsuranceAsia News Staff
Ross Howard, chairman of JLT Re, will become vice-chairman of Guy Carpenter when the acquisition of JLT by Guy Carpenter’s parent Marsh & McLennan is completed early next year.
However, it is understood Mike Reynolds, global chief executive at JLT Re, has decided to leave the firm after rejecting a new role at the combined group with Howard appointed interim chief executive, according to JLT’s website.
Howard will join the Guy Carpenter executive committee and take a key role in integrating the two companies. He will report to Guy Carpenter’s president and chief executive Peter Hearn.
Hearn said: “We are very excited to take the first steps in bringing together these two great reinsurance businesses. I have known [Howard] in the market over the years and believe he will play a pivotal role in the success of the combined organisation, driving growth and global collaboration, while further differentiating our client value proposition.”
JLT Re declined to comment to InsuranceAsia News on Reynolds’ position.
