HDI appoints property underwriter in AustraliaAugust 23 2019 by Andrew Tjaardstra
HDI Global has appointed Abishesh Chettiar as senior underwriter – property, for Australia’s northern region.
Based in Brisbane, Chettiar (pictured) started with HDI Global on August 5 and reports to Dale Graf, HDI Global’s head of property for Australasia.
Chettiar is responsible for developing and growing HDI Global’s property portfolio in Queensland. He has fourteen years’ experience in the Australian market – the last four of which have been in the Brisbane market.
Graf said: “It’s a great step for HDI Global to have a dedicated property underwriting resource in Queensland. He will complement our growing team well.”
Stefan Feldmann, HDI Global’s managing director for Australasia and Asean, commented: “It’s an important milestone to appoint a property underwriter in Queensland, which is an important long term market for HDI Global. Having someone with the calibre of [Chettiar] on board will hold HDI Global in good stead for the future with our broker partners and clients alike.”
HDI has been expanding in the region and has ambitious plans.
