InsuranceAsia News wraps up the people moves from the insurance industry in Asia this week.
1. GIC Re names new interim MD
GIC Re named Rajesh Pawar as interim managing director following the retirement of Ramaswamy Narayanan.
Pawar is a general manager at the state-owned reinsurer, and succeeds former MD Narayanan, who stepped down on September 30.

2. Aon names multiple senior leaders across APAC
Aon Reinsurance Solutions has named Simon Chisholm as chairman of Asia for reinsurance solutions, effective January 1, 2026.
Aon has promoted Wee Teck Tea to head of commercial risk solutions in Singapore. Tea has been at Aon for over 14 years, most recently as executive director, head of P&C, affinity, claims.
Joe Gardner was promoted to broking leader for crisis management for Asia for the broker, meanwhile, it also appointed Selinda Wu as regional director within its construction and infrastructure team. She joined Aon from Miller, where she was a client management specialist covering Asian clients for the energy department.

3. KRM Re appoints ex-Marsh Philippines head as CEO
KRM Re, the Filipino reinsurance broker, announced the appointment of Ramon Zandueta, CEO of Oona Insurance Philippines and former Marsh country head, as its CEO. He has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry and was recently at Oona Philippines, and was CEO of Marsh Philippines from 2004 until 2021 and served as chairman until 2023.

4. Markel appoints head of distribution and MGA for strategy Australia
Markel tapped Scott Luxford as head of distribution and managing general agent (MGA) strategy Australia from agriculture MGA Harland Green, where he was the head of distribution and part of its founding team.

5. Rokstone expands APAC marine team with two senior hires
Specialty (re)insurance MGA Rockstone hired Sharon Seah and Hui Ling Long as part of their Singapore team led by Rama Chandran, the former head of Marine for Asia at QBE.

6. Marsh names new Pacific head of sales 
Marsh Australia and New Zealand has appointed Steven Cakaric as head of sales for the Pacific. The appointment comes as part of a major leadership shuffle at the Marsh.

7. Coalition appoints new Australian country manager
Trent Nihill has been appointed as general manager in Australia as Coalition gears up for the next phase of its growth in Australia. Brisbane-based Nihill was previously the head of underwriting at the cyber MGA.

8. Ageas Re names new underwriting leader for APAC
Brussels-headquartered reinsurer Ageas Re has named Christoph Spichtig to lead its property underwriting for Asia Pacific. Zurich-based Spichtig joined Ageas Re following over 17 years with Scor.

9. MS Amlin grows APAC team with triple appointment
MS Amlin has appointed Darren Toh and Yosuke Yasuda as senior underwriters and Amirul PJ Ashraf as an underwriter. The appointments come as MS Amlin looks to accelerate its “strategic growth” across the region.

Hannover Re named Kantaporn Thejatunga (Jan) as life and health general manager in Malaysia. Thejatunga succeeds Soeren Kruse, who was appointed as head of life and health for southern and eastern Asia earlier this year.
WTW promoted Emma Spencer to account director. Brisbane-based Spencer joined WTW in January 2023, and was most recently an account manager.
