Generali, Lockton, Willis: 8 APAC insurance people moves of the week

InsuranceAsia News wraps up the people moves from the insurance industry in Asia this week.
1. Generali GC&C’s Asia head of casualty underwriting departs
Hong Kong-based Wendy Law, Generali Global Corporate & Commercial’s head of casualty underwriting for Asia, has left the carrier after over three years, the company confirmed in a statement to InsuranceAsia News (IAN). Generali said it was actively working on Law’s replacement.

2. Lockton India confirms MD for transactional lines
Global broker Lockton has appointed Anand Kaul as managing director for transactional lines in India, confirming a previous exclusive report by InsuranceAsia News (IAN). Mumbai-based Kaul will lead and expand Lockton’s transactional liability offerings, leveraging the firm’s global expertise to provide innovative risk solutions to dealmakers in India.

3. Willis hires new head of marine for Japan, and new MD for risk, analytics in Asia
Willis has appointed Takashi Kato (pictured) as head of marine for Japan, as it looks to build its business in the country. Kato joins the global broker from Accenture, where he worked for two years.
WTW also confirmed the appointment of Christopher Lindsey as managing director for risk and analytics in Asia.

4. Japan P&I confirms key personnel changes amid latest reshuffle
Japan P&I Club has announced several personnel changes, effective from April 1 and July 1, 2025. From April 1, Koji Shikada, currently the general manager of the Fukuoka branch, will take on two additional roles as deputy head of underwriting units and general manager of Tokyo underwriting department I.
And from July 1, Yasuyuki Nakamura, currently assistant general manager of Tokyo underwriting department I, will assume the role of general manager of the Fukuoka branch.
Kyoko Sakamoto, meanwhile, will become assistant general manager of Tokyo underwriting department I, and team leader of team II of the department, effective from April 1.
Elsewhere, Shigeru Yamada will step down from his role as team leader of team II in Tokyo underwriting department I, and continue to serve as the assistant general manager of the department, from April 1.

5. HDI Global hires senior risk engineer in Hong Kong
HDI Global has brought Ted Chen (pictured) onboard as a senior risk engineer in Hong Kong. With over 25 years of experience, Chen is an expert in fire protection systems engineering and risk management, specialising in the semiconductor field, HDI Global said.

6. Marsh Australia appoints new principal
Global broker Marsh has hired Kevin Duggan as principal in Australia. Prior to joining Marsh, Sydney-based Duggan was working at Nsure, a commercial insurance broker, for almost five years.

7. Crawford promotes Brendan Ames in Australia
Crawford & Company has promoted Brendan Ames (pictured) to strata strategic partnership manager and senior loss adjuster in Australia. Ames has been with Crawford since February 2020, and was most recently a business development manager across multiple lines including domestic, strata, commercial, liability, cyber, marine, and construction.

8. Moody’s RMS’ APAC managing director departs
Andrew Hare, Asia Pacific managing director for Moody’s RMS, has left the risk modeller, InsuranceAsia News (IAN) understands. It is not immediately clear who is replacing Hare, who had been in the role since August 2022.
