Etiqa Takaful is planning to improve its regional footprint by making inroads into other markets in South-East Asia.
The move aims to boost the takaful and general insurance brand within the region.
According to Etiqa Group Insurance and Takaful chief executive officer Kamaludin Ahmad, a number of Asean countries are being considered, although he declined to reveal them for now, pending regulatory approval.
He did reveal that over the next few years, the group will work to become a significant insurance player in the region.
The company said it will also seek to shore up its position as the leading takaful company in markets where it has operations.
