1. Envest taps former Marsh NZ chief to lead New Zealand broking

The Envest Group has appointed Toni Ferrier as chief executive officer of Envest Broking New Zealand, effective February 2027.

Envest Group chief executive Greg Mullins said Ferrier’s appointment represents a significant milestone in the group’s long-term growth strategy in New Zealand.

Ferrier was most recently CEO of Marsh New Zealand, and was previously president of Marsh Risk New Zealand. She stepped down from her Marsh role last month.

2. Labuan Re hires CUO

Malaysian reinsurer Labuan Reinsurance has appointed Chan Swee Chee as CUO, effective from Monday.

Chan brings over 28 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, with extensive expertise in treaty and facultative reinsurance across Asia, including the Middle East.

3. Allianz Commercial confirms new head of liability underwriting

Steve Williams has been appointed as Allianz Commercial’s head of liability underwriting on a permanent basis.

Sydney-based Williams has been with Allianz for over 15 years, having spent much of this time in senior underwriting roles in the personal injury division, before stepping into the acting head of liability role in October.

4. Willis promotes sales head to lead Australia P&C business

Willis has announced the appointment of Will Sare as head of corporate for Australia, effective immediately.

Sare, who has been with Willis since July 2025 as head of sales for the Pacific having joined from Marsh, will lead the property and casualty business across Australia.

5. Aon strengthens Asia transaction solutions team, appoints ART leader

Natsuko Kato has joined Aon’s transaction solutions team in Asia as a deputy director based in Japan.

Japan-based Kato, who joins from Medtronic Japan, where she served as principal legal counsel, will support Aon’s growing M&A insurance practice.

Aon has appointed Tanvee Mehta as its alternative risk transfer (ART) leader for Asia.

Singapore-based Mehta joins from Swiss Re, where she had been the senior structurer of ART solutions for APAC since 2023.

6. Marsh names cyber managing principal in Australia

Jack Morecroft has joined Marsh as its managing principal for cyber in Australia.

Melbourne-based Morecroft joins from Gallagher, where he had been since January 2022 in London and Melbourne.

7. Howden brings crop, livestock, parametric risk specialist to Singapore

Howden has appointed crop, livestock and parametric risk specialist Sonal Mishra as a senior vice president within its reinsurance division.

Mishra has relocated from India to Singapore, having spent the last almost 10 years at Tata AIG General Insurance leading and managing the crop, livestock, and parametric insurance portfolio in her role as associate vice president.

8. Zurich property, marine head joins Lockton Australia as head of real estate

Evan Moore has joined Lockton Australia as its head of real estate, according to a LinkedIn update.

Sydney-based Moore joins from Zurich, where he led property, marine and technical lines for its general insurance business in Australia, after relocating from the UK in February 2023.

9. Coface names head of commercial for Thailand

Coface has appointed Natthaphan Phanitchawong as its head of commercial for Thailand.

Bangkok-based Phanitchawong joins from AIG, where he spent 17 years as the head of the trade credit insurance department.

10. BMS Group appoints national head of general claims for Australia

BMS Group has appointed Anna Capone as national head of general claims for Australia, according to a LinkedIn update.

Perth-based Capone joins after over two and a half years at McLardy McShane Insurance Advisors in Melbourne, where she was most recently national claims manager.

11. Miller Japan hires business development, credit insurance specialist

Miller Japan has tapped Hiroaki Wakamatsu as a business development and credit insurance specialist.

Tokyo-based Wakamatsu will work alongside Tokinori Kono, head of non-marine broking, across multiple lines of business, including credit, surety and political risk.

12. Starr makes double A&H appointments

Starr has appointed Sharon Ho as head of A&H for Hong Kong.

Ho will lead the continued development of Starr’s A&H offering in Hong Kong, with a particular focus on growing the travel business across a range of distribution channels.

Starr has appointed Patto To as its regional A&H claims manager in Asia.

Hong Kong-based To will focus on strengthening Starr’s A&H claims service across Hong Kong and Singapore, supporting regional teams, clients and partners.

13. Specialist Risk Group Australia appoints managing partner

Specialist Risk Group Australia has appointed Josh Lauren as managing partner.

Perth-based Lauren joins the broker following a year-long career break, having previously worked for Empire Insurance Group, a Western Australia-based broker which was acquired by Marsh in 2024.

14. Thailand’s TQR taps business development assistant vice president

Thai reinsurance broker TQR Public Company has appointed Tanasta Dhadasih as an assistant vice president for business development, focusing on specialty reinsurance, effective from Monday.

Bangkok-based Dhadasih brings over 14 years of experience in the insurance industry, with strong expertise in financial lines, underwriting, corporate business, and client management.

India-focused reinsurer Niyam Group has appointed Aditi Chaturvedi as director of actuarial. She joins from Accenture, where she was an actuarial senior principal for the last four years.

Ageas Group‘s country manager for Malaysia and Singapore Dimitri Terryn confirmed his departure from the firm. He will return to Belgium to join the management team of Ageas Re as chief risk officer.
