Chubb promotes and replaces Thailand senior execJuly 29 2019 by Andrew Tjaardstra
Edward Kopp, country president of Chubb’s Thailand general insurance business, has been appointed to the position of senior vice president, accident and health for Asia-Pacific.
Starting on October 1 he will relocate from Bangkok to Singapore and report to Paul McNamee, regional president of Chubb in Asia Pacific and also to John Thompson, division president, international accident and health.
Kopp has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, and was previously country president of Chubb’s general insurance business in Korea and before that, held leadership roles with HSBC and Cigna.
Subject to regulatory approval, Andrew Nisbet will replace Kopp as Chubb’s country president in Thailand. Nisbet is currently senior vice president accident and health, UK and Ireland, Eurasia and Africa; he started his career at Chubb in 2006 as an accident and health account manager in his native New Zealand, and since then, he has held numerous leadership roles with Chubb across New Zealand, Australia and Japan.
McNamee commented: “These leadership changes demonstrate the depth of talent Chubb has available to ensure we sustain our growth momentum in Asia Pacific. We are glad to welcome back [Nisbet] to the region. He is a hands-on, proactive, innovative and results-oriented executive; qualities which will position us well in Thailand, one of the most dynamic businesses in the region.”
He added: “[Kopp] is a seasoned professional with demonstrated strong technical proficiency, leadership and business development skills.”
