Hong Kong-listed China Life Insurance Company Ltd, the largest commercial insurance group in mainland China, has announced the election of Yang Mingsheng as chairman of the board.
The election was held during the first meeting of the fifth session of the board on 28 May 2015.
Yang’s election came a week after he was also elected as an executive director of the company, after the resignation of Yuan Li.
Yang has many years of experience in the financial industry, the company said. He was vice-chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission from 2007 to 2012, and worked for Agricultural Bank of China from 1980 to 2007, where he held various positions including vice-president of Shenyang branch, head of industrial credit department and president of Tianjin branch.
During the meeting on 28 May 2015, the board also appointed members of the four board committees – the Audit Committee, the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, Risk Management Committee and the Strategy and Investment Decision Committee.
