Beazley recruits two for financial lines in SingaporeDecember 14 2018 by InsuranceAsia News Staff
Harry Goh and Jessica Schappell are set to join Beazley’s Singapore office in Capita Green (pictured) in January 2019. Goh will join as a financial lines underwriter while Schappell will manage regional claims.
Harry Goh brings more than 20 years’ experience underwriting professional indemnity and medical malpractice risks in Singapore to his new role as underwriter – international financial lines. He will be responsible for underwriting product lines including cyber, directors and officers, financial institutions, medical malpractice and professional indemnity
Goh’s last role was at Munich Re owned insurer Ergo in Singapore where he developed the company’s financial lines business, and was responsible for casualty business and account handling for international brokers.
Schappell will become responsible for managing financial lines claims for Asia Pacific. She is relocating from Beazley’s New York office where she has worked since January 2007 in specialty lines claims. She initially managed cyber claims and has, more recently, managed complex claims on Beazley’s miscellaneous medical, hospital and long-term care portfolios. Prior to joining Beazley, Schappell was a claims analyst for AIG in New York.
Nicholas Tey, Beazley’s regional manager in Asia for international financial lines, commented: “We are looking forward to welcoming [Goh] and [Schappell] to our team. Their depth of experience in risk and claims will help us to further develop our offering in Asia Pacific.”
