InsuranceAsia News wraps up the people moves from the insurance industry in Asia this week.
1. Marsh Re names new international head, appoints Japan CEO
Laurent Rousseau has been appointed as Marsh Re’s head of international.
In the newly expanded role, London-based Rousseau will lead Marsh Re’s Asia, Pacific, Latin America and Caribbean regions in addition to Europe and IMEA, while also continuing to lead capital and advisory globally.
Marsh Re also appointed Andrew Hare as chief executive officer of Japan, effective from 1 January, subject to regulatory approval.
He joined Marsh in May 2026 as head of growth for Asia Pacific and will continue to serve in that role, succeeding Jeremy Fox, who will continue in his role as chairman for Asia Pacific.

2. Axa XL Re taps ex-Scor CUO as Asia head
Axa XL Reinsurance has appointed Augustin Gas as head of Asia for reinsurance, effective from Tuesday.
Based in Singapore, Gas will lead Axa XL’s regional reinsurance team, oversee client and broker relationships across Asia and manage the carrier’s regional book.

3. IFFCO Tokio promotes chief risk officer to managing director, CEO
IFFCO Tokio General Insurance has promoted Tatsuya Fujimoto to managing director and chief executive officer, effective from Monday.
Based in Gurugram, Fujimoto most recently served as IFFCO Tokio’s chief risk officer and director of operations, having joined the Indian joint venture of the Japanese insurance group in November 2024.

4. Marsh names new New Zealand CEO, hires Singapore COO
Anna Scott has been appointed as Marsh New Zealand CEO, replacing Toni Ferrier.
Scott will also retain her role as president of newly rebranded Marsh People and Investments in New Zealand.
Marsh has promoted Rama Sentousa to chief operating officer for Marsh Singapore.
Sentousa, who was most recently COO of Marsh Risk Singapore, has been with the broker for nearly seven years.

5. Zurich bolsters APAC commercial leadership with key hires in Singapore
Zurich Insurance has strengthened its Asia Pacific commercial insurance bench with the appointment of Patrick Fyson as head of property for Asia and bringing Dylan Bryant back into the fold, leading the multinational and captives business across Asia Pacific.
Fyson is a seasoned commercial underwriting leader with deep property underwriting, portfolio management, and leadership experience gained in roles spanning Singapore and the United Kingdom, the company said.
Dylan, meanwhile, will oversee outward, inward, and international programs, as well as captive fronting and related solutions, and will drive strategy, performance, and service delivery in the region while strengthening Asia Pacific’s contribution to Zurich’s global multinational and captives network.

6. Great American Insurance boosts market development, marine capabilities
Great American Insurance Group has strengthened its market development and marine capabilities within its Singapore branch with Larry Kwok promoted to head of the North Asia market (excluding South Korea) and Er Jun joining as head of the marine major market division, effective from Tuesday.
Hong Kong-based Kwok will focus on developing business opportunities across all classes within the region.
Meanwhile, Singapore-based Er joins from Lockton, bringing nearly two decades of regional marine insurance experience across broking, underwriting and business development.

7. Sompo names APAC partnership development, management head 
Sompo has appointed Hairolnizam Sapian as head of partnership development and management for Asia Pacific.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Sapian will be responsible for advancing Sompo Asia’s consumer growth agenda through the development and management of strategic partnerships across the region.

8. Chubb names Samsung Fire veteran as South Korea CEO, appoints financial lines head
Chubb has appointed veteran Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance executive Il-Pyung Kim as CEO of its South Korean non-life insurer, Lina General Insurance, effective next Tuesday.
Outgoing CEO Jae-Kyung Mo will move to head Chubb’s commercial insurance business, where he will oversee underwriting, product competitiveness and sales-network expansion.
Chubb has shifted Candy Huang to a new role leading its financial lines team across Southeast Asia.
Huang has led Chubb’s financial lines team in Singapore for the past three years, and in the new role, she will lead Chubb’s financial lines business in key regional markets such as Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.

9. Peak Re hires global head of distribution, head of operations
Peak Re has appointed Natt Wattanaumphaipong as its global head of distribution and partnerships, and Sanjiv Agarwal as head of operations.
Wattanaumphaipong, who has relocated from Singapore to Hong Kong, will be responsible for strengthening and strategically managing Peak Re’s broker and distribution relationships globally.
Agarwal, meanwhile, who has also relocated to Hong Kong from Singapore, will oversee Peak Re’s operations functions, including technical accounting, claims and technology.
10. Adva Group launches Singapore reinsurance platform, to be led by Gallagher Re veteran
London-headquartered Adva Group, which owns extended warranty MGA Adva Underwriting, has tapped reinsurance veteran Jim Attwood to launch a new platform in Singapore.
Attwood has over 30 years of specialised experience in structured reinsurance, most recently as Gallagher Re’s chairman for strategic solutions in APAC.

11. Aon Australia promotes client director to chief broking officer for specialty
Hayley Pettit has been promoted to chief broking officer for specialty at Aon Australia, while also continuing to lead the Queensland financial institutions team.
She joined Aon in July 2007 and spent 12 years as an account director. She rejoined Aon in August 2021 as a client director.

12. Generali Central Insurance appoints chief commercial officer
Generali Central Insurance has appointed Prem Sivadas as its chief commercial officer.
Mumbai-based Sivadas will lead the corporate sales function, with a focus on strengthening broker partnerships and expanding Generali’s corporate portfolios, including Generali Corporate and Commercial (GC&C).

13. Scor Business Solutions reshuffles APAC energy leadership
Scor Business Solutions, the large corporate risk insurance arm of reinsurer Scor, has appointed Steven Sim as APAC energy manager after incumbent Pierre-Louis Migairou was promoted to global head of energy.
Onshore energy underwriter Nicolas Dorgnach will also relocate from London to Singapore as part of the reshuffle, and global head of energy, Michel Krenzer, has been appointed energy transition lead.
Singapore-based Sim has worked for Scor Business Solutions since 2022 and was most recently a senior energy underwriter.
Migairou, meanwhile, joined Scor in 2012 as a mining underwriter in Paris and has since built extensive international experience across the energy sector.
Dorgnach joined Scor Business Solutions in 2020 as an energy business analyst.

14. Lockton New Zealand hires chief client officer
Lockton New Zealand has hired David Lynch as its chief client officer.
Auckland-based Lynch was most recently chief client officer for specialties at Marsh, covering liability, trade credit, cyber, and aviation.

15. Aviso Specialty names construction growth leader, clarifies SRG move 
Aviso Specialty has tapped Corinne Biagioni as its new construction growth leader.
Sydney-based Biagioni had only announced in a LinkedIn post in June, which is now deleted, that she had joined rival broker Specialist Risk Group (SRG), but clarified to IAN that she had never commenced employment with SRG.

16. QBE Asia appoints internal leaders to strengthen wholesale markets business
QBE Asia has appointed Barry Robinson as head of portfolio solutions, and Melissa Anthony as Singapore country lead for corporate liability, both effective from Tuesday.
In this newly created role, Robinson will lead QBE’s portfolio solutions strategy across the region, driving sustainable growth and delivering innovative product solutions, according to the update.
Meanwhile, Anthony joins from QBE Australia, where she spent more than eight years in liability underwriting and portfolio management roles.

17. Coface promotes duo to commercial heads for Japan and Malaysia
Coface veteran Antoine Pachoud has been appointed as head of commercial for Japan.
He has been with Coface for over 14 years, and was most recently Coface Global Solutions (CGS) director for France and Western Europe, based in Paris.
The trade credit insurer also promoted Jason Tan to head of commercial for Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur-based Tan joined Coface almost six years ago, and was most recently managing commercial operations and marketing for Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

18. Gallagher New Zealand names head of marine
Gallagher New Zealand has appointed Brent Mullan as its head of marine.
Mullan joins Gallagher in the newly-created role after a two-year break spent travelling and studying, having last been a partner for Howden between September 2023 and August 2024.

19. AIG Australia scores senior professional indemnity underwriter
AIG Australia has appointed Mahfuzur Rahman as a senior professional indemnity underwriter (PI).
Melbourne-based Rahman joins from Chubb, where he had been a senior underwriter for financial lines and major accounts for Australia and New Zealand since moving from London in September 2025.

20. Ageas Re appoints senior APAC property treaty underwriter
Brussels-headquartered reinsurer Ageas Re has appointed Steve Cipriani as a senior underwriter for property treaty for APAC.
Cipriani has relocated to Zurich from Singapore for the role following six months as a treaty underwriter for Sompo.

21. 360 Underwriting Solutions hires general manager for commercial classes
AUB Group-backed 360 Underwriting Solutions has appointed Ben Church as its general manager for commercial classes.
Sydney-based Church joins 360 from Allianz, where he spent over 13 years across a range of senior distribution roles, most recently as general manager of distribution.

Singapore’s Income Insurance CEO, Andrew Yeo, will step down at the end of 2026, with board chairman Lim Sim Seng informing staff via email that a search for his successor is underway. Yeo joined Income over 11 years ago as executive vice-president and general manager for L&H before being promoted to his current role.
