InsuranceAsia News wraps up the people moves from the insurance industry in Asia this week.

1. WTW reshuffles APAC team with triple promotion

Willis has elevated Conor Keating to head of cyber for Asia and Carlos Grijalva to head of cyber sales for Asia.

The broker also named Lay See Ong as the new data centre practice leader in Asia, based in Singapore.

Ong will also retain her existing responsibilities as strategic client leader for large accounts in Asia.

2. Aviso Group elevates chief broking officer to CEO

Australia’s Aviso Group has promoted former chief broking officer Jeff Moule to CEO.

He will take over from Travis Kemp, who held dual responsibilities as CEO of Aviso Group and Aviso Specialty.

Kemp will continue to oversee Aviso Specialty.

3. Lockton appoints new VP for marine, specialty and reinsurance

Bale (Yue) Gao has joined Lockton as vice president for marine, specialty, and reinsurance.

Gao joins from WTW, having spent just over three years as a marine manager.

4. Marsh hands senior VP role to cargo specialty VP

Marsh has promoted Faizal Jumadi to the role of senior vice president of cargo specialty in Asia.

Singapore-based Jumadi (pictured) joined Marsh in January 2022 as vice president of cargo specialty in Asia.

5. QBE Singapore hands expanded role to current head of risk

QBE Singapore has handed Shelby Tan an expanded role as head of risk and compliance.

Tan will lead both risk and compliance functions, building on her current position as head of risk for Singapore.

6. Starr names Zurich veteran to lead financial lines practice in Hong Kong

Starr Insurance has appointed Celia Wong as head of financial lines for Hong Kong.

Wong joins from Zurich, where she spent 14 years in the financial lines practice.

7. Miller reappoints former broker as P&C broker

Specialist (re)insurance broker Miller has appointed Johanna How as a property and casualty broker in Singapore.

How previously spent over two years at Miller in April 2019 as a reinsurance broker, focusing on facultative reinsurance across diverse commercial lines in Southeast Asia.

8. Berkley Insurance Asia hires finance head for Gift City branch

Berkley Insurance Asia has appointed Harshvardhan Jain as head of finance of its branch in India’s financial offshore special economic zone.

Jain, a chartered accountant with over 20 years of experience, has held senior roles in leading multinationals, specialising in general insurance, and driving profitable growth.
