InsuranceAsia News wraps up the people moves from the insurance industry in Asia this week.
1. Swiss Re names new APAC head for property underwriting globals
Swiss Re has named Pavel Huerta Uribe as head property underwriting globals for APAC, effective September 15, 2025. Uribe will be based in Tokyo and succeeds Andy Tran.
Uribe, who will be based in Tokyo, Japan, has been with the reinsurer for over 21 years and was most recently a senior client underwriter based in Zurich and responsible for the Israeli P&C treaty portfolio and focused on developing tailored catastrophe risk transfer solutions for clients in the Mediterranean markets.
Tokyo-based Tran, who has been in the role since 2022, will be relocating, the company said but declined to provide more details.

2. Lockton taps new APAC head of transaction liability
Lockton has appointed Terence Montgomery (pictured) as the new Asia Pacific head of M&A for transaction liability, joining from WTW, where he was the practice leader for M&A in APAC since June 2018.

3. WTW promotes head of terrorism and political violence for APAC
Global broker WTW has promoted Choo You Bin to head of terrorism and political violence for APAC. Singapore-based Choo joined WTW over four years ago, and was most recently executive director for crisis management, terrorism and politcal violence.

4. Marsh reshuffles senior positions across APAC
Marsh Asia appointed Dale Williams as corporate and commercial leader, and Youn Wook (Cleo) Kang as senior client adviser power, energy specialty. Singapore-based Williams (pictured) most recently worked at Mercer Asia. Seoul-based Kang will be responsible for supporting Marsh’s clients with their energy transition journey, according to the post.
Marsh Australia and New Zealand also elevated Scott Eccleston to Pacific head of risk management, with Maurice Gatto replacing him as the new head of global placement for the Pacific. Eccleston has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance and risk sector, including more than 20 years with Marsh, while Gatto is promoted to his position from deputy head of global placement.

5. Allianz Trade moves into Vietnam with country manager hire
Allianz Trade has appointed Ly Dao as country manager for Vietnam as part of its expansion into the market. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, Dao will lead the company’s overall business and operations in Vietnam and serve as its legal representative.

6. Everest appoints new multinational network manager for APAC
Everest appointed Simon Lim (pictured) as the new multinational network manager for Asia Pacific. He joins the firm from AIG, where he spent over eight years as a multinational network partner practice for APAC.

7. Aon India promotes new product heads
Aon has appointed Harpreet Sidhu as head of the financial services and professions group (FSPG) at Aon India, with immediate effect. Sidhu has nearly a decade of experience at the UK-based global broker. Aon India also promoted Manoj Kumar to head of sales and growth for commercial risk and health solutions, he previously was the head of specialty products since 2015.

8. Envest-backed Ando names new chief executive
Envest-owned Kiwi insurer Ando Insurance elevated Therese Singleton (pictured) to chief executive, succeeding John Lyon, who moves to the role of executive chair of the board. Singleton joined Ando in 2022 as the COO.
