PARIMA Taipei gathering to explore Asian response to global risks
November 14 2024 by InsuranceAsia NewsThe Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association’s (PARIMA) will explore Asia’s responses to challenges from global risks at its upcoming annual conference in Taipei.
The conference will tackle contemporary challenges faced by businesses, societies, and governments in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment, emphasising the need for collaboration and preparedness.
The PARIMA 2024 conference will be held on November 22 at the W Hotel in Taipei. This event follows regional gatherings in Manila and Mumbai earlier this year and aims to bring together over 150 risk and insurance professionals from Taiwan and across the Asia Pacific.
As Asia continues to play a crucial role in global economic growth—home to more than half of the world’s population and a major driver of projected GDP increases—the region’s resilience and adaptability in addressing global risks are increasingly important, PARIMA said in its press release.
Themed “Global Risks, Asia’s Response”, the key topics of the conference will revolve around: risk and insurance management, sustainability, and people risks.
The conference will feature speakers from Taiwan’s risk management landscape, including Peter Chen, chairman & CEO of Qisda Corporation.
Chen will discuss how effective risk management can be embedded within corporate frameworks with a focus on Qisda’s approach to strengthening resilience and driving organisational success.
Additionally, Dr. Bill Chang, chairperson of the Risk Management Society of Taiwan, will speak on the evolving landscape of risk management in Taiwan; Dr. Eugene Chien, chairman of the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy, will address the critical intersection of risk management and sustainability.
The conference will also feature nine sessions.
