Insurance Strategist, Wellington Management

As an insurance strategist in the Hong Kong-based Client Group, Max supports Wellington Management’s insurance business across Asia. In this role, Max forms part of the broader global insurance solutions team that works in consultative partnership with insurance companies, helping to identify and address the major business trends that are affecting insurers and the associated investment opportunities. He is charged with synthesising information on capital management and regulatory changes that drive insurers’ investment behaviours and decisions across Asia. He is an active member of Wellington Management’s Solvency II Working Group. Prior to his current role, Max was based in London with Wellington Management and worked with European insurance companies in a similar capacity (2015 – 2020).

Before joining Wellington Management in 2015, he worked as a graduate analyst in the Fixed Income & Currencies team at Commerzbank in London (2014 – 2015). Max graduated with a First Class degree in Economics from Newcastle University. Additionally, he holds the Investment Management Certificate and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
