William KN Chan

Chief Investment Officer, HSBC Life Hong Kong, CFA, FRM

William KN Chan is the Chief Investment Officer of HSBC Insurance Hong Kong, responsible for managing USD60bn investment portfolio. Prior to joining HSBC Insurance, he has held a number of senior investment positions in London and Hong Kong, including Head of FX at UBS Asset Management (UK) and Co-head of Private Clients Portfolio Management at HSBC Asset Management (UK).

A seasoned investment professional with over 25 years of experience in formulating investment strategy and leading investment teams looking after multi-billion institutional and private client portfolios, William has broad and deep market knowledge across major asset classes including equity, fixed income, FX, property, private equity, private debt and derivatives. He has published researches in industry magazines and technical journals and is a frequent speaker in industry conferences and seminars. He is a Chartered Finance Analyst and a certified Financial Risk Manager. He holds a MSc degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences and a B.Soc.Sc. degree from the University of Hong Kong.
