Lazada, AIG forge online cover deal in Malaysia

AIG Malaysia had partnered with South-East Asia’s biggest e-commerce platform Lazada Malaysia to selling insurance on the platform

Lazada’s portfolio of products has already expanded successfully to cover the selling of gift coupons and dining vouchers online on top of selling just physical goods, which bodes well.

Hans-Peter Ressel, chief executive of Lazada Malaysia, said that people nowadays as digital natives, are more inclined than ever to look for both products and services online so selling insurance on its platform makes sense as a next move for Lazada.

Lazada said talks about this collaboration and partnership have been ongoing for the past two years and required regulatory clearance with Bank Negara Malaysia before it was finally given the go signal.
