AIMA, IAMAC sign insurance collaboration agreement

The Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) has inked a memorandum of understanding with the Insurance Asset Management Association of China (IAMAC), a self-regulatory organisation for China’s national insurance asset management industry, which lays out new areas of cooperation and collaboration.

Among the areas being looked at for collaboration are educational programmes and joint events.

In a statement, AIMA said the memorandum further boosts its foothold in China and its relationships with China’s asset management industry and its regulators.

In 2014, AIMA also signed an MoU with the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC), the self-regulatory organisation for Chinese fund managers.

This latest MoU is the second one that IAMAC has entered into with a foreign association after its partnership with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, the professional body for UK actuaries, in 2016.
