AXA launching units in Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai

French insurer AXA Group, one of the world’s leading insurance and financial groups, is setting up three units across Asia as part of its efforts to boost relationships with the growing pool of entrepreneurs and talents in the region.

AXA is establishing AXA Strategic Ventures in Hong Kong, AXA Lab Asia in Shanghai and Data Innovation Lab in Singapore.

Henri de Castries, AXA chairman and CEO, was quoted as saying that the group is looking to seize the new opportunities offered by the region, prompting the series of initiatives in Shanghai, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The Data Innovation Lab in Singapore will conduct R&D work for AXA’s products and services using data analytics.

The AXA Lab Asia in Shanghai will seek to foster innovation and entrepreneurship while the AXA Strategic Ventures in Hong Kong will seize the numerous investment opportunities in the region.

AXA is targeting 100 million Asian customers by 2030, from the current 14 million customers.
