Marsh opens representative office in Myanmar

Marsh has officially opened a representative office in Myanmar’s largest city, Yangon.

The office will conduct market research and feasibility studies for insurance broking business in Myanmar and will also provide business support and liaison activities on behalf of Marsh Singapore’s businesses.

Jerry Westmore, chief country representative of the Myanmar office said that Marsh was keen on helping develop and grow local talent in its business as he saw Myanmar’s great potential.

The country has recently experienced rapid economic development after years of rule by a military junta and international political isolation.

Marsh Asia Pacific chief executive Martin South says the firm is delighted to be an active contributor to the country’s transformation.
