Sony Life inks deal with Australia’s ClearView Wealth

Japanese insurer Sony Life has entered into a mutually beneficial cooperation agreement with ClearView Wealth, a life insurance, wealth management and financial advice solutions provider in Australia.

In a disclosure to the Australian Securities Exchange, ClearView said the agreement will see the two companies sharing information and increasing their coordination to drive efficiency and growth.

The agreement is effective from January 13, 2017 for as long as Sony Life holds at least 10% of issued share capital in ClearView.

Simon Swanson, ClearView Wealth managing director, said the collaboration will see the Australian insurer benefit from Sony Life’s substantial expertise in product development, distribution and marketing.

Both Sony Life and ClearView have agreed to share information in relation to best practice in financial advice, technology, internal operations and financial reporting practices.

Last year, Sony Life agreed to acquire a 14.9% stake in ClearView.
