Asian health insurance among world’s most expensive

A new report released by broker Pacific Prime showed that Hong Kong, Singapore and China are among the top five most expensive locations for international health insurance.

The report, which ranks the average premiums in 100 countries, found that the US again ranked as the most expensive location, followed by Hong Kong, with an average cost of US$12,585.

Singapore, China and Canada ranked within the top five, with an average cost of US$10,732, US$10,695 and US$10,263, respectively.

This year’s list also saw Singapore replacing China as the third most expensive for health insurance.

The report further noted that the number of Southeast Asian countries ranked within the top 10 has increase this year.
