Manulife names Asia head as global president

Manulife Financial has appointed former Citi banker and Asia chief Roy Gori, who joined the Canadian insurer just two years ago, to take up the role of global president.

Gori has been based in Hong Kong since early 2015, having previously held senior executive positions in the region with Citi. In his new position as Manulife president, Gori will be also responsible for the company’s Canadian, US and investment operations.

He will report to chief executive officer Donald Guloien. With his appointment, Gori will relocate to Toronto from his base in Hong Kong. The appointment will take effect on June 5 this year.
